How Long Does CBD-P Last in the Body?

CBDP is one of the newer cannabinoid discoveries made recently, and, is already being shown to offer tremendous value to the human body thanks to its distinctive properties.  Non-psychoactive, this compound is closely related to CBD (cannabidiol), also displaying tons of promise according to those who have been researching it for its various effects.

Like all cannabinoids in the hemp plant, CBDP can remain in the body for longer than it takes for the effects to wear off.  Even though CBDP won’t influence a drug test, the fact that it can linger in the system for a while can have other implications, especially among those who take medications.

How Long Do the Effects of CBDP Typically Last in Our System for?

Cannabidiphorol (CBDP) is not a psychoactive cannabinoid, so you won’t feel a high after taking it.  But, that doesn’t mean that it’s not doing anything.  CBDP is rich in valuable properties that work through the endocannabinoid system (ECS), and the length of time during which these effects can be felt will depend on the product type that you’ve taken since each absorbs into the body at its own unique rate.  Just remember that after CBDP’s effects have worn off, this cannabinoid will still be in the body while it metabolizes.

  • Inhalable Products (Vapes, Dabs, Flower): An inhalable CBDP product like a vape pen, vape cart, concentrate, or infused flower is going to absorb at the fastest rate.  Basically then, effects will last for the shortest period of time – about 1-2 hours.
  • Ingestible Products (Edibles, Capsules): A product that is ingested, like a CBDP gummy, capsule or beverage shot, will take the longest to absorb in the body, and this means that the effects will last for the longest – about 8 hours, give or take.
  • Sublingual Products (Tinctures): A CBDP tincture or other type of sublingual product will absorb at a rate that’s between the other two delivery methods, with effects lasting for about 3-4 hours.

Is There a Duration of Time When CBDP is Supposed to Leave Our System?

As we mentioned earlier, there’s no clear time as to when cannabidiphorol should fully clear from the body.  It can take anywhere from 2 to 30 days, based on aspects like frequency of usage and when the CBDP was last consumed.  Plus, there really is no way for you to identify whether or not the cannabinoid is still in the body.  Why?  Because there is currently no test that looks for CBDP levels.

The process of metabolizing cannabinoids is done in stages:

  • About 30 minutes after the cannabinoid is absorbed, 50% or so of the cannabinoid has already fully metabolized.
  • Another half hour later, 25% more has metabolized.
  • What remains is 25%, and this percentage can last for quite a while, since at this stage, metabolization is a much slower process.

What This Means for Drug-Testing Purposes

Some possible good news is that cannabidiphorol isn’t going to show up on a drug test.  CBDP itself is not tested for, and nor is CBD.  Drug tests, whether they be urine, saliva, blood, hair, or perspiration-based, are looking for evidence of THC usage, mostly through the detection of THC-COOH, an enzyme that breaks down THC-based compounds.  CBDP does not break down through THC-COOH, and so even if CBDP is in your body for a while, it will not interfere with your ability to pass a drug test.

What Actually Plays a Role in How Long CBDP Could Normally Last in the Body For?

Like we said before, cannabidiphorol can remain in the body for anywhere from a couple of days to weeks.  Consider then, all of these different variables that impact how long it takes for CBDP to no longer remain in the body.

#1: Frequency of Use

How often you take CBDP actually makes a big difference.  The metabolism can only break down the cannabinoid so fast, so taking it more than every couple of days means you’ll have more in the system than the metabolism can keep up with.

#2: Delivery Method

The delivery method likely plays a role as well.  We showed earlier how each CBDP product type can have its own duration of effects.  Similarly, it seems that edibles metabolize at the slowest rate, while inhalable products metabolize the fastest.

#3: Product Strength

We mentioned that the more CBDP is in your system at once, the more it gets “backed up” as the metabolism can only work so quickly.  So, naturally, the more milligrams of the cannabinoid you consume, the longer it will take to completely break down.

#4: Your Metabolism

If you just naturally have a faster metabolism than the average person, due to things like genetics or diet, then you will likely clear CBDP more quickly than most people.

#5: When You Last Took CBDP

Another thing that makes a difference is when you last consumed CBDP.  If it’s been a couple of days, then it’s still in your body.  If it’s been several weeks, then you likely don’t have any of the cannabinoid left in your system.

#6: Product Quality

Believe it or not, cannabidiphorol may metabolize at a quicker rate if the product is lower in quality.  You see, a product with low chemical stability, likely due to age or poor extraction methods, can bypass the ECS and start metabolizing immediately.

How Long After Using CBDP is it Safe to Take Any Type of Medication (Prescription or Non-Prescription)?

Cannabidiphorol, like many cannabinoids, likely has its purpose in suppressing the CYP3A4 enzyme in the body that breaks down many common medications.  What this means is that when levels of CYP3A4 are low, drugs can fail to fully metabolize and instead accumulate in the bloodstream at potentially dangerous levels.

Unfortunately, there have not yet been any studies done showing that CBDP interacts with specific drugs.  This means that there is no clear answer about how long you must wait after taking CBDP before you can take a medication dosage.  This is why it’s critical that you talk to your doctor, since they can give you more personalized guidance.

The Bottom Line: CBDP Can Last Up To 30 Days In Your System

Overall, there really is no clear formula that can tell you how long it will take until CBDP levels are fully cleared from the body.  There are a lot of different aspects that determine the rate at which the body will break down CBDP, from one’s metabolism to the amount of CBDP that they take per dosage.  Again, as we cannot stress this point enough, if you’re taking a medication and want to make extra sure that CBDP isn’t interacting with drug metabolization, best to initially speak with your physician.

There’s no clear time as to when cannabidiphorol should fully clear from the body.  It can take anywhere from 2 to 30 days, based on aspects like frequency of usage and when the CBDP was last consumed.  Plus, there really is no way for you to identify whether or not the cannabinoid is still in the body.  Why?  Because there is currently no test that looks for CBDP levels.
