What is Delta 8 THC?

• Delta 8 and Delta 10 Vape Cartridges
• Delta 8 and Delta 10 Disposable Devices

In other words, if you’ve found that, for example, vaping delta 8 with a cartridge gives you the most satisfying experience, you will very likely find that cartridges are your preferred method for consuming delta 10 as well.

#9: Delta 8 THC and Delta 10 Products Come In The Same Dosages

Similar to above, delta 10 and delta 8 products are available in comparable milligram strengths, yielding the same potency of effects across both boards.  In other words, if your unique tolerance is compatible with a 1000mg delta 8 tincture, you’ll more than likely find that a 1000mg delta 10 tincture is also the strength that’s right for your personal needs and ability to handle the effects of the cannabinoid.

However, this does not mean that you should just jump right into the same milligram strength with Delta-10 that you’re used to with Delta 8 THC dosages.  Delta 10 is a different cannabinoid at the end of the day, and therefore its effects are unique.  Just like you did with delta 8, you should start with a low dose of delta-10 and slowly build up your dosage and strength as tolerated.

#10: Both Can Be Taken with Other Hemp Compounds

Both delta 8 and delta 10 can be taken with other compounds from the hemp plant such as CBD, or terpenes.  Both of these cannabinoids can work in a complementary manner with other hemp compounds through synergy, in which taking multiple compounds from the same plant at once can enhance the overall desirable effects.  

This is why you can already find both delta 8 and delta 10 vape cartridges combining these cannabinoids with terpene profiles from popular strains, as well as tincture that contain CBD, cannabinol (CBN), and Cannabigerol (CBG) in addition to either delta 8 or delta 10.  

Note: We have yet to come across a product containing concentrated levels of both delta 8 THC and delta 10 THC.

Both delta 8 and delta 10 are isomers of CBD, meaning that they contain the same molecules as cannabidiol, except they are arranged differently in nature.  We said earlier that delta 10 is produced by manufacturers by rearranging the molecules of the cannabidiol compound, and while most delta 8 is produced using steam distillation, this molecular rearrangement process is also used by some companies to produce delta 8 extract.

As you would assume, the arrangement of molecules in a particular compound can result in dramatically different effects between the new compound and its predecessor, which means that even though these two THC compounds are isomers of CBD, they behave in a vastly different manner in terms of their properties, characteristics and overall effects on the mind and body.

#12: Each are Cannabinoids

Ultimately, as delta 8 and delta 10 are both cannabinoids, they are both compounds that directly interact with the body’s endocannabinoid system by binding to specific cannabinoid receptors tasked with regulating important bodily functions in various major systems. 

The endocannabinoid system uses cannabinoids to achieve homeostasis, and each cannabinoid interacts with specific cannabinoid receptors to yield unique regulatory responses.  Essentially, delta-8 and delta-10 have a more long-term role in homeostasis due to how they are utilized by the body.

#13: Both are Unsafe for Pets

Any psychoactive compound is dangerous to give to pets, as the intoxicating effects can overwhelm the nervous system and lead to dangerous changes in nervous system function and behavior.  As of now, only CBD is recommended for pets.

How Do Delta 8 THC and Delta 10 THC Differ from One Another?

As two distinctive cannabinoids with their own unique traits and molecular characteristics, it is safe to say that each one will ultimately affect you in a different manner.  Here is where we can fully compare both cannabinoid types to figure out how they differ from one another.  From there, you can decide if one is more preferable according to what it is that you’re trying to get out of the hemp plant.

#1: Delta 8 May Be More Calming

Delta 8 THC has been noted for its anxiolytic properties according to clinical researchers, which means that it may be a particularly calming cannabinoid.  Most people do take delta 8 specifically for stress relief, saying that the mild buzz, combined with a blend of relaxing properties, helps them unwind.

#2: Delta 10 May Be More Uplifting

While no studies have verified it yet, many delta-10 enthusiasts say that it gives them more of a lift or boost, helping increase mood and energy levels as well as creativity and feelings of sociability.  For the sake of comparison, we can say that delta 8 most likely feels like an indica strain, and delta 10 feels more like a sativa strain, despite neither cannabinoid getting these properties from terpenes.

#3: Delta 8 May Be Better at Night

Because of its more calming effects, delta 8 may be a better choice for nighttime use, and in fact, one clinical trial found that this particular cannabinoid may help promote sleep.  In other words, it could potentially be too sedating during the active hours of the day when you likely have to fulfill certain responsibilities.

#4: Delta 10 May Be Better During Daytime Hours

Due to the potentially energizing properties of delta 10 that users are talking about, it’s likely best used during the daytime, as those properties could keep individuals up at night if they are particularly sensitive to these effects.  

#5: Delta 8 May Promote More Concentrated Effects on the Nervous System

We have yet to see a full analysis of delta 10 THC in terms of which cannabinoid receptors in the body it acts on, but one thing we can guess is that delta 8 delivers more notable effects to the nervous system. Why?  Because delta 8 THC seems to work exclusively on CB1 receptors, which is a category of cannabinoid receptors that are found in the nervous system of the body.  This is extremely rare, and it is unlikely that delta 10 works in the same manner.

#6: Delta 10 is Simply Newer

Of course, delta 10 THC is newer to the market than delta 8 THC.  What this means is that there are far more hemp enthusiasts out there who have taken delta 8 than there are who have had a chance to try delta 10.  With any new cannabinoid, first-timers have less of a reference point that can give them an idea of what to expect when taking it.

#7: Delta 10 Does Not Naturally Occur, Technically Speaking
