The demand for tetrahydrocannabiphorol (THC-P) keeps on growing, and it’s easy to see why. The most psychoactive cannabinoid in all of hemp, THC-P can offer an intense feeling of pure, unadulterated euphoria, with a deeply relaxing body high to match. Of course, given the popularity of this uniquely powerful hemp derivative, it shouldn’t be too surprising that fake THC-P products do exist on the market. Luckily, spotting them is easy when you know what to look for.

Why Fakes Exist on the Hemp Market
It’s always disappointing to know that there are companies out there who have no problem producing a fake product. But, at the same time, it’s inevitable. THC-P can be faked, since tetrahydrocannabiphorol is a colorless, flavorless, and odorless distillate that is tough to identify for the average consumer. Not only that, but with growing demand comes a powerful incentive for shady businesses to profit off of the trend without actually using real THC-P.
Types of Fakes You Might Run into
There are, in fact, different kinds of fakes out there, and it’s important to know what they are so that you can easily identify each one when you go shopping.
- Knock-Off Products: A knock-off would be a THC-P product made by one company, designed to look exactly like the product made by a more popular company – similar to a knockoff designer handbag. What’s inside the formula is actually a low-quality product, or one that doesn’t contain any THC-P.
- Products that Contain Zero (or Almost Zero) THC-P: Then, there are products advertised as THC-P products, which either contain no THC-P, or contain so little THC-P that they can’t possibly give you any meaningful effectiveness.
- Products Made with Harmful Ingredients: While not technically a fake, you still want to strictly avoid a product that does ultimately contain THC-P, but also contains harmful ingredients that can do damage to the body – for instance, Vitamin E added to vape oil, which has been linked to severe respiratory problems.
Avoiding a Fake THC-P Product: What to Look For
The good news is that avoiding fakes is easy when you have just a little bit of knowledge when it comes to what you should be looking for when shopping for THC-P. Just follow these rules below.
#1: Look at the Third-Party Lab Reports
One of the best things you can do is look at the third-party lab reports before buying your THC-P product, since that’s where you’ll have full access to unbiased information regarding its legitimacy. Third-party lab reports come from a third-party testing facility, which is approved by the state to analyze a company’s samples of hemp, and should be easy to find on a company’s website. Look at the cannabinoid breakdown column, and you should see the amount of THC-P that’s in the formula, as well as the overall purity level, which should be about 90% or so – finding a purity level above that is extremely rare, so 90% is actually very good.
#2: Look at Online Reviews
Before buying a company’s THC-P products, look at their online reviews. If the brand is producing fakes, the reviews won’t be able to hide that information. And, don’t just look on the company’s website, either. Search around the internet for reviews on third-party review sites, Reddit and so on, to get a broader idea of the company’s reputation.
#3: Consider the Company You’re Buying It From
The bottom line is that some kinds of retailers are more likely to carry fakes than others. For example, if you find THC-P being sold at your local gas station, then there’s a higher risk of ending up with a fake, since gas station owners probably aren’t screening the THC-P they carry – that’s just not an area that they specialize in. Trusted online brands like Binoid are always the way to go, since their business depends on carrying only the very best THC-P possible.
#4: Read the Label Carefully
When checking out a THC-P product you’re thinking about buying, read the label carefully. Look at the wording on the label, because a product with lots of spelling or grammar mistakes is definitely a red flag, as it shows that the brand cuts corners. Also, read the ingredients, because if there’s only a trace amount of THC-P in the product, then it might as well be a fake, since the THC-P is likely too low to actually produce any kind of effects. Of course, the ingredients will also tell you if there’s something harmful in the formula.

Spotting a Fake According to the Product Type
As you know, THC-P comes in a wide array of product types, so let’s get more specific about spotting a fake specific type of THC-P product.
THC-P Vapes (Disposable Vape Pens and Vape Cartridges)
THC-P vapes should contain absolutely no added ingredients, so that’s the first thing to be checking. On top of that, the vape oil should smell and taste like hemp because of its terpenes, and not have any kind of artificial aroma to it. Look at the lab reports, because that’s where you’ll quickly discover whether or not the hemp extracts have been diluted with some type of additive, and whether or not they contain the hemp compounds they say they do.
THC-P Wax Dabs
With THC-P wax dabs, you will need to look at the ingredients. Like vape oils, dabs should never contain anything other than hemp derivatives in a concentrated form – in other words, zero additives. Again, the lab reports will give you the information that you’re looking for.
THC-P Flower
One product that’s hard to fake is flower, since it’s easy to tell if what you’re looking at is hemp buds. But, like the other two products above, THC-P flower should contain zero additives.
THC-P Gummies
THC-P gummies can be faked easily, because there are so many ingredients that go into them, which is where companies can hide shady practices. Look at the list of ingredients thoroughly, including the amount of THC-P in each piece, to make sure you’re not getting ripped off with too low of a milligram strength. And, make sure the gummies don’t contain any harmful ingredients of any kind.
THC-P Capsules
With capsules, follow the same rules we discussed with gummies. Keep in mind that capsules contain fewer ingredients than gummies, and the THC-P should make up a good amount of the formula, as the third-party lab reports will demonstrate.
THC-P Tinctures
With a THC-P tincture, always check that the milligram strength is high enough to give you the effects that you’re looking for, keeping in mind that due to the cannabinoid’s potency, you aren’t going to be taking, say, 50mg of pure THC-P per serving. Also, make sure that there aren’t any unwanted additives or filler ingredients in the formula, since tinctures only need to contain THC-P distillate and a carrier oil. Besides that, if it’s a straight THC-P distillate tincture, it shouldn’t have a strong smell, unless flavoring has been added to it. If it’s a full spectrum tincture, it should smell like hemp.

But, the good news is that by sticking with Binoid’s THC-P products, you never have to worry. We offer extensive third-party lab reports on our website, along with lists of ingredients, and our reputation throughout the industry tells you all that you need to know about the quality levels that we take seriously.
