Is THC-P Safe To Smoke or Vape

Tetrahydrocannabiphorol (THC-P) is a cannabinoid that was only discovered a few years ago, but that hasn’t stopped it from becoming one of the most highly sought-after hemp-based products among those users looking for a potent psychoactive high.  Known to be potentially 10x as intoxicating as delta 9 THC, it is easy to see its overall appeal.  But, THC-P and THCP products are a new discovery, and so naturally, some people are concerned about its ultimate safety.

Is THC-P Harmful to the Body?

Basically, tetrahydrocannabiphorol (THC-P) isn’t known to be harmful or dangerous to a person’s health.  THC-P is a naturally occurring cannabinoid in the hemp plant, and, is similar enough to more familiar cannabinoids in terms of how it’s absorbed to tell us that generally, it’s not associated with serious adverse reactions.  Cannabinoids have been used for ages, and if they came with extreme risks, we would have heard about them by now.

One thing to know about how safe THC-P is to smoke or vape is to take into account the potency and dosage taken. These products are very strong and we highly recommend taking in very small doses first.

One thing that’s worth pointing out is that millions of people have used THC compounds, and there has yet to be a report of a fatal overdose directly caused by taking an intoxicating cannabinoid.  This pretty much tells you that your risks when taking THC-P products are extremely low.

One thing though to be aware of, however, is that if you’re taking any medications (prescription or non-prescription), best to talk to your doctor before trying a THC-P product.  Essentially, tetrahydrocannabiphorol, like all cannabinoids, may suppress an enzyme called CYP3A4, which’s responsible for breaking down many common medications.  Without enough of this enzyme, rather than metabolizing, medications can build up in the bloodstream to potentially toxic levels.

What Kinds of Side Effects Can Come from Taking THC-P?

Overall, tetrahydrocannabiphorol (THC-P) is not associated with any major side effects, either short or long-term.  However, those who have a low tolerance to the cannabinoid, as well as those who take unusually high doses, may end up with certain mild side effects, which are more likely due to how intoxicating THC-P is.

These side effects include the following:

  • Dry mouth
  • Dry eyes
  • Reduced blood pressure/increased heartrate
  • Anxiety/paranoia
  • Dizziness/lightheadedness
  • Grogginess
  • Cognitive impairment
  • Headache

Good thing is that these side effects rarely become severe or last beyond the duration of the high.  Should you experience any side effects that concern you, or last for an abnormally long time, then consider seeking medical attention.

Does THC-P Cause Impairment That Can Be Dangerous?

Important to point out that due to the very intoxicating nature of tetrahydrocannabiphorol, it can be dangerous to perform certain tasks while it’s in your system.  Driving is the best example.  THC-P can cause impairment that can make operating a vehicle extremely dangerous, not only to you but to others as well.  The same goes for any activity that is already somewhat risky, and even requires full concentration and coordination.  If you’ve THC-P in your system, wait until the effects have worn off before driving or doing anything else that could be potentially dangerous.

Is THC-P Safe for Children or Pets?

Tetrahydrocannabiphorol may be hugely intoxicating, but generally, adults can tolerate these effects just fine.  On the other hand, that’s not the case for either children or pets.  To put it in simple terms, THC-P products must NEVER be administered to either a child or an animal.  Neither has a nervous system that can process the psychoactive properties of the cannabinoid, and this can cause serious danger, including neurotoxicity.  THC-P is for adults only, with zero exceptions.

Ways to Know You Have a Safe THC-P Product

THC-P is not an inherently dangerous cannabinoid – no more than any other cannabinoid in the hemp plant, like CBD or delta 8.  But sadly, there are shady companies out there that may be formulating their THC-P with unsafe ingredients.  To avoid ending up with a THC-P product that could ultimately cause harm, simply follow these tips below.

Tip #1: Buy Only from Trusted Companies/Manufacturers/Distributors

It is critical that you make an effort to only purchase THC-P products from reputable names in the industry.  A brand wouldn’t risk their reputation by using unsafe ingredients in their formulas.  Hence, avoid using those ingredients known to be unsafe to possibly go against the FDA’s requirements along with the 2018 Farm Bill.  Always look at a brand’s reviews before purchasing, as we’ll be getting into more shortly, since this way, you’ll know that other customers have found their products to be generally safe.

Tip #2: Look at Third-Party Lab Results

All companies should have their THC-P products third-party tested by an authorized laboratory, and also made accessible to consumers.  This lab-testing process looks for potentially harmful impurities like toxins, contaminants, and other unwanted compounds that could be harmful if consumed.  View these lab reports carefully to have a full understanding of a particular product’s safety profile.  In fact, you can check out Binoid’s COA’s displayed on their ‘About’ page here.

Tip #3: Read the Ingredients

Before buying any THC-P products, read the list of ingredients provided by the manufacturer.  Steer clear from products that are loaded with synthetic ingredients or artificial fillers that don’t actually offer any value to the quality or properties of the THC-P.  This way, if the company has snuck a dangerous ingredient into their formula, you will know without learning the hard way.

Tip #4: Check Those Real User Reviews

Reading real reviews (reviews that sound real and aren’t duplicated) on a company’s website, in order to gather insight on other users’ experiences with that said THC-P product(s) that you have your eye on, before making a purchase is key.  Binoid CBD has over a thousand real reviews displayed on the website.  That gives Binoid a higher trust factor than other brands in our industry that’ve potentially created a reputation for scamming customers.

Bottom Line: Taking THC-P is Generally Safe

Fortunately, tetrahydrocannabiphorol (THC-P) is not known to be inherently dangerous.  This naturally occurring cannabinoid might be extremely intoxicating, but that doesn’t correlate to any known health risks of any kind.  Of course, there could be THC-P products on the market that contain unsafe ingredients, which is why it’s so critical to be conscious of who you’re buying it from.

At Binoid, you can rest easy knowing that all of our THC-P products have undergone a strict lab-testing process through a third-party, and, are totally free of any ingredients that’re known to harm the body.  Made In The USA and 100% Natural, THC-P is a lot stronger than other THC cannabinoids, and, is not to be confused with Delta 9 THC.
