THCM (11-Nor-Delta-9-Tetrahydrocannabinol-9-Carboxylic Acid {Carboxy-THC}) is a cannabis byproduct first discovered in 1997.  It hasn’t ever been isolated in the cannabis plant, meaning that technically, there’s no proof that it even exists in raw cannabis.  Rather, it has been identified in cannabis smoke, and is used as a biomarker to confirm that a fetus has been exposed to cannabis while in the womb.

Delta 7 THC is a semi-synthesized cannabinoid, meaning that structural changes are made to delta 9 cannabinoid through a series of chemical reactions to alter its properties.  It’s not commercially available as of now because the process of making it is difficult and expensive.  It was created by cannabis researchers to test the effects of exposing delta 9 THC to this chemical process, and was not initially developed for commercial use.

Delta 7 THC’s Psychoactive Properties

Delta 7 THC is not psychoactive, which is rare for a THC cannabinoid.  It doesn’t cause intoxication, but it does appear to have a very relaxing effect on the body, while the mind remains completely clear.
