THC-H was discovered back 2020, by a team of Italian researchers analyzing a strain of cannabis.  In fact, the same team that discovered THC-H discovered THC-P less than a year earlier.  THC-H has a 6 alkyl side chain, hence the “hexol” in the name, and that’s about the extent to which we know of its characteristics at the moment.

One thing we do know about THC-H is that it may be incredibly psychoactive – the second most intoxicating cannabinoid after THC-P – based on how effectively it binds to CB1 receptors in the brain that are responsible for the general psychoactive response of THC compounds.  More notably, people describe its high as strikingly euphoric, which could be good news for those who want to experience the more uplifting properties that THC is capable of.  Many also report a powerful body high effect that induces couch lock for quite a while.

THC-H’s Non-Psychoactive Properties 

As for the non-psychoactive properties of THC-H, we actually don’t really know much at all.  When THC-P was discovered in December of 2019, the researchers analyzing it found that it had a lot of similarities in common with delta 9 THC, and thus likely offered the same types of benefits pertaining to pain, nausea, appetite and mood.  But, THC-H has yet to be given the same level of analysis, meaning that while it certainly does have properties relating to the endocannabinoid system, we just don’t know what they are yet.

HHC-P is a cannabinoid, and so it works with the body’s endocannabinoid system beyond producing intoxication, to regulate different bodily processes through interaction with cannabinoid receptors in the nervous system, digestive system, immune system and more.  But, HHC-P also happens to be the cannabinoid we know the least about. 

That’s because it’s so new that not only has there been no analysis done on its potential, but there isn’t anyone who has used it long-term, who has been able to record its overall effects on functions of the body.  Because it’s so similar to HHC and delta 9, albeit much stronger, it likely offers relief from physical discomfort, effects on appetite, nausea, mood and more.
