Can You Take THC-H with Other Cannabinoids?

There is another cannabinoid that’s making its way onto our catalog called tetrahydrocannabihexol (THC-H).  A powerfully psychoactive hemp derivative, it’s already causing quite a bit of buzz throughout the market, and it was only discovered in 2020, making it brand new.  There is no doubt that taking THC-H can offer a lot all on its own, but many of our customers like to mix and match cannabinoids to explore different effects that come out of the hemp plant.

THC-H: A Whole New Way to Explore the Properties of Hemp

Like we said, tetrahydrocannabihexol is an early discovery, by the same team of researchers who discovered tetrahydrocannabiphorol (THC-P) just a year prior.  While there have not yet been any studies done on the effects of THC-H, we do know that the cannabinoid is likely to be the second most potently psychoactive after THC-P, given the way in which it attaches itself to CB1 receptors in the brain that cause intoxication.

Those who have taken THC-H have noted that the effects are completely euphoric, with more euphoria felt than with any other cannabinoid.  Plus this cannabinoid seems to offer a powerful body high effect, which can be great for those who want to melt into the couch after a long day.

When it comes to combining cannabinoids with one another, the key thing to keep in mind is that it’s generally fine, because cannabinoids naturally occur alongside one another in the plant, meaning that they can be complementary.  This is as true of tetrahydrocannabihexol as it is any cannabinoid, and the compounds do, in fact, work together synergistically to potentially offer a new array of enjoyable effects and enhanced bioavailability.  It’s actually somewhat common for companies to combine certain cannabinoids together, like we see with THCV vapes that contain delta 8 THC to stabilize the psychoactive properties of THCV.

But, there are certain aspects to mixing cannabinoids together to be aware of, each determining the ultimate outcome of your experience.

#1: Timing

When you take each cannabinoid makes a big difference.  Taking one cannabinoid 4 hours before another means they may not interact much at all, while taking them at the exact same time gives you more of an effect that comes from blending them together.

#2: Delivery Methods

The delivery method of each also matters, since each delivery method behaves differently in the body.  As an example, vaping some THC-H and some THC-O at the same time means you’ll feel them both peak at the same time, with the same potency level and duration of effects.  Vaping some THC-H and taking a THC-O gummy at the same time means the effects of THC-H may wear off by the time the THC-O kicks in due to the longer onset time associated with edibles.

#3: Proportions

Yes, pay attention to the ratio of THC-H to the other cannabinoid.  There’s a difference between, for example, of taking 3 puffs of delta 8 and 1 puff of THC-H, and taking 1 puff of delta 8 and 3 puffs of THC-H, with the latter being more intoxicating since THC-H is far more potent.

#4: Amounts

Of course, overall dosage is important, too.  Taking one puff of a THC-H vape and one puff of another cannabinoid is different from taking 3 puffs of each, which can get you incredibly high.

Cannabinoids and Synergy

We know that cannabinoids work together synergistically, and the cannabinoid with which you combine tetrahydrocannabihexol can therefore dramatically alter the experience.

  • THC-H + CBD: CBD is not intoxicating, and therefore, taking it with THC-H can make the experience less psychoactive and more mellow.
  • THC-H + Delta 8: Delta 8 is much milder than THC-H, and more mellowing, which means that the euphoria of THC-H may be offset in a way that makes the user more relaxed.  Further, delta 8 will make the experience less intoxicating than it would be if pure THC-H were taken.
  • THC-H + Delta 10: Delta 10 is a more uplifting, daytime cannabinoid, and so combining it with THC-H could maximize the uplifting qualities of THC-H as well, and enhance the euphoria, while, like delta 8, making the high milder.
  • THC-H + THC-O: THC-O is also a uniquely potent cannabinoid in terms of its high, and many find that it produces a heavy couchlock effect, much like THC-H.  We recommend going carefully with this combo since both are very powerful.
  • THC-H + THC-P: THC-P is likely even more intoxicating than THC-H, so you’ll want to be extra cautious when combining them as there’s a good chance of getting too high.
  • THC-H + HHC: HHC is known to mimic delta 9 THC in many ways, and is milder than THC-H to offer a bit less potent of a high.  HHC can also be euphoric, complementing the same property within THC-H.
  • THC-H + THCV: THCV is a much milder cannabinoid in terms of its high, and is only psychoactive when taken at a certain dosage amount.  This means you may need to experiment with this combo to find the balance that works for you.
  • THC-H + HHC-O: HHC-O is an acetate form of HHC which is about 150% as potent as its predecessor, and so combining it with THC-H will definitely allow for a unique high that will feel a lot like a more powerful delta 9 experience, with added euphoria and a higher chance of couchlock.
